Leave A Legacy
Your legacy could give children, families and communities the chance of education, access to safe, clean water, healthcare and many other things that we take for granted.
Bequests
Remember ActionAid in your will and help challenge the reasons behind people's poverty and change their lives for good.
While family comes first when making a will, there can be room in your plans for helping others outside your family. If improving the lives of those most in need around the world is important to you, giving to ActionAid USA in your Will is your opportunity to make a lasting and meaningful gift.
Your Will is an important legal document. To ensure that it meets your wishes and legal requirements, seek advice from tax advisor and attorney.
You can specify a specific dollar amount, or designate a percentage of the estate or its residue to go to ActionAid after your heirs are provided for. Although we generally use gifts through bequests where needs are greatest, you can specify we use your bequest for a specific purpose.
If you would like to include a charitable bequest in your will to support the future work of ActionAid, we suggest the following language:
“I give and bequeath the sum of $______ (or ___% of my estate) to ActionAid USA, to be used in support of its general charitable purposes.”
Beneficiary Designations
By naming ActionAid as the beneficiary of your insurance policy or Individual Retirement Account, you can make a generous gift without any loss of income or disruption to other assets. As with bequests, the amount ActionAid receives through a beneficiary designation is generally used where the needs are the greatest, but we will gladly honor your request to use it for a specific purpose or program.
Please be sure to use ActionAid’s legal name, ActionAid USA, in your documents. To discuss these and other planned giving options, please call Mrs. Randi Hogan, Chief Development Officer, at 202-370-9924.
