E-mail Fraud Alert

ActionAid has learned that fraudulent e-mail messages have been circulating the Internet. The messages, allegedly from ActionAid or ActionAid staff members, state falsely that recipients have been selected to receive money awards from ActionAid and ask recipients for their personal and bank account information. ActionAid does not solicit information for job recruitment or job offers through email either this is a scam.

Please note that ActionAid does not provide money awards to individuals nor does it request personal or banking information through e-mail messages. Such messages are “phishing scams” designed to steal recipients’ identities and money. We urge recipients not to reply to them — please report and forward them to info@actionaid.org or to the local authorities.
