As a result, they are more vulnerable to seasonal and episodic weather and to natural disasters resulting from climate change. Despite these injustices, women all over the world and been leading in creating innovative means to adapt to climate. Please join ActionAid and Nobel Peace Laureates Wangari Maathai and Jody WIlliams for a discussion of the impact of climate change on women. ActionAid works to ensure that women’s needs and capacities are at the forefront of the debate on climate change. Climate justice must not just take into account the unequal relationship between the north and the south. It must also address the ways in which women are particularly affected by climate change and to harness women’s unique ability to adapt to climate change.
