ActionAid Liberia has established it's relavence and solidified community members trust by reaching the individuals and communities that are often considered too rural to reach. Decades of civil war has left what was previously a delapated infrastructure, torn apart. Across Liberia, infrastrucutre and lack of transportation options plague development. However, ActionAid does not let that stop us from reaching those most in need.
The southeast region of Liberia is often overlooked and considered to difficult to work in. In order to reach the southeast region from Monrovia in the northeast, rather than just being able to head south, one must travel three hours west before being able to go another three hours south.
All of this on difficult and often winding roads. At best the roads are filled with holes, often times the van gets stuck, tires burst. There are numerous ActionAid stories of staff having to sleep overnight in a van on a dark dirty road with blown tires in order to reach many rural communities.
ActionAid's committment across the difficult terrain of Liberia, illustrates ActionAid's dedication to reach those who are most in need.
